Reporting to the Deputy Director - Strategy and Architecture, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties:
- Contribute to the ongoing development of cloud strategy and identify the appropriate strategic solutions or tactical implementations
- Define, implement, and continuous update principles, policies, and governance to form best practices, standards, and guidelines for designing and implementing new cloud-native solutions
- Design and build automated workflows/tools to enforce policies, best practices and cost controls, andto facilitate the automated setup, configuration and deployment of workloads in the cloud
- Conduct technical review for service provisioning, recommendation, planning and support
- Define and lead proof of concepts and pilots to support the use of cloud computing
- Monitor and oversee all platform change management, security, and release/deployment activities
- Ensure performance and reliability as the cloud platform scales, and participate in remediation and continuous improvement through operational metrics and effective countermeasures
- Obtain and maintain an in-depth understanding of MS Azure, AWS and other cloud technologies to ensure all appropriate options are considered to support business initiatives
Requirements
- Relevant university degree and further applicable professional qualifications and certifications
- Committed to best practices and striving for the elimination of manual operational processes to promote a DevOps oriented software delivery model
- Ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical personnel required
- Fast-learning, energetic, ability to perform in a challenging environment with evolving technologies
- Effective verbal and written communication in English; fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin highly desirable
- Experience in managing and scaling AWS and MS Azure IaaS/PasS and deploying large scale public cloud applications
- Experience in cloud operations, service automation, cloud administration & management, and performance tuning
- Experience with SOAP and REST APIs to support integration of infrastructure, cloud and platform as a service technology
- Experience with containers and container orchestration, Kubernetes and Docker, including lifecycle management of containers
