Key Responsibility:
- Rapid incident response and resolution
- Problem follow up and root cause investigation
- Assistance with patch management programme and other infrastructure changes
- Assistance with understanding and managing infrastructure changes
- Improving infrastructure checks in conjunction with application checks
- Automating infrastructure checks and investigation tools
- Identifying infrastructure risks
- Assisting application support and app dev teams with host migrations and check outs
Basic skill:
- Have basic leadership capabilities / be self-starters (be persistent and inquisitive)
- Be able to work autonomously to proactively identify and manage production risks
- Be required to run basic projects to ensure environment stability and manage tech road map compliance (e.g. patching, identifying non TRC h/w)
- Be able to manage other infra groups e.g. n/w without handholding
- Be able to seamlessly integrate and work alongside client's application teams
- Build effective relationships and integrate with the DXC off-shore leveraged teams
- Be the on-site representative of the DXC off-shore leveraged teams
- Be able to manage and troubleshoot storage issues / liaise with the vendors as required
- Minimum 8+ of experience
- Unix systems including Linux & Solaris
- Storage including storage uplifts, migrations etc
- Patching of Solaris/Unix servers.
- Virtualization technologies including VMware, Linux KVM, docker, Solaris containers etc
- LDAP directory services/authentication & authorization services (single sign on)
- Scripting and programming experience in Shell, Perl, Java.
- Red Hat and relevant certification
- Expertise in client communication
- Good knowledge in mapping client requirement into design and implementation
- Good domain knowledge about process and procedure
