About the Role
Our client is seeking a Game Systems Designer to design and develop game features and systems from concept through implementation and post-release optimisation.

The role will focus on systems design, game economy and numerical design, gameplay mechanics, configuration and data-driven optimisation. The successful candidate will work closely with development, art and QA teams to deliver and continuously improve game features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design game features and systems, including rules, user flows, interface behaviour and interaction logic.
  • Prepare clear systems-design documents, functional requirements and configuration specifications.
  • Develop reusable game systems and features that can support different gameplay requirements.
  • Define system behaviour for different user scenarios, exceptions and interruption or recovery flows.
  • Prepare and maintain configuration tables and test data in collaboration with development teams.
  • Design and optimise game economy, progression, reward and resource systems, including numerical frameworks and balancing parameters.
  • Analyse player behaviour and live product data to identify optimisation opportunities, and use A/B testing to evaluate gameplay and numerical changes.
  • Use player segmentation and behavioural insights to support differentiated progression, reward and numerical strategies.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis and translate findings into practical design improvements.
  • Work closely with development, art, QA and operations teams throughout development, testing and release.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media Technology, Computer Science, Interactive Media or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in game systems design, gameplay design or a related role.
  • Experience in game systems and numerical or game economy design, including progression, rewards and balancing.
  • Experience translating design concepts into system rules, user flows, functional requirements and configuration specifications.
  • Experience using player or product data and A/B testing to support system and numerical optimisation.
  • Ability to work closely with developers on system logic and technical implementation, and collaborate effectively with art and QA teams.
  • Good analytical, documentation and communication skills, with good written and spoken Chinese, including Mandarin, and working proficiency in English.
  • Experience with casual, social, mobile or mini-games, player segmentation or related game-development tools would be an advantage.
